Keith Olbermann vs. Stephen A. Smith - Round 1

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

Via The Big Lead comes this video that has Olbermann taking a pretty big swipe at Stephen A. Smith about 1:30 in....

"By the way when you're down to Stephen A. Smith...you're finished"

Ouch that burns. It's pretty funny I guess I pretty much hate all three of them, so they can beat each other up for all I care.

Also, of note.....Stephen A. Smith has just hired high-powered Florida trial lawyer Willie E. Gary to take his former paper (Philadelphia Inquirer) to court. Good Times....Good Times.

I think Smith will just talk much much louder thus thinking he'll win whatever confrontation arises.

Why does Olby seem to consider everything the end of the fucking world. Jeezis, he talks as if O'Reilly means anything...Edward R. Olby.

What a douche.

I think it's actually pretty pathetic than Olbermann spends a significant amount of show discussing his rival who tools him in the ratings.

Olberman's show is wonderful. I don't like him on the Sunday night football broadcasts but his nightly show is wonderful.

O'Reilly doesn't tool Olberman in the ratings at all. Check your facts on that one. Why does he spend time on him? Because, unfortunately, many people take Bill O as a serious commentator when he is anything but. I don't have a problem with Keith pointing out the idiocy of Bill O, someone should be exposing him.

Olberman's bitter, all right. Wouldn't you be bitter if you couldn't beat a brainless clusterf*ck like O'Reilly in the ratings?

You can tell that O'Reilly had no idea who Stephen A. Smith until told by his crack research staff. He calls him "Stephen Smith".

'You can tell that O'Reilly had no idea who Stephen A. Smith until told by his crack research staff. He calls him "Stephen Smith".'

He should probably be commended for that.

Take the politics somewhere else, guys.

The O'Reilly "racism" thing was a full on smear, as proven by the complete transcript when he was talking about a relative with racist tendencies

O'Reilly may be a jerk, but Olbermann's a boring douche which is a far worse crime

These posts about Olbermann always end with commenters arguing with each other. Sports are nice because you don't have to discuss politics. NBC made a mistake putting Olbermann on SNF.

Oct 16, 2007, 6:31:00 PM

As GMoney intimitated, I, too, hate to mix politics with sports, but it's impossible not to when Olbermann is discussed, for the obvious reason that he has had jobs in both.

For the record, my opinion is that Olby is a retarded fuck face who gets the shit beat out of him by O'Reilly on a nightly basis.

While O'Reilly has his problems, he at least takes up for the good causes such as kids and getting all these fucking pedophiles of the streets.

All Olby does is bitch and moan while smearing people who have done more good for this country than he will ever do.

So fuck Olby, and fuck NBC for having him on SNF.

So, anonymous, you claim you hate mixing politics with sports, and then go on a tirade against Olbermann? I agree with you that it was a mistake to put him on SNF, but it's not like he brings politics to the forefront on SNF. It is possible to talk about him without mentioning politics. If you don't agree with his sports commentary, then say that. There's no need to attack his political beliefs.

Oct 16, 2007, 9:32:00 PM

His "Worst Whatever of Whatever" is a direct spinoff from his "Worst Person of the World" or whatever that stupid segment is called (and yes, I think O'Reilly's "Patriot or Pinhead" segment is also stupid as shit), in which the ratio of Elephants to Donkeys is more than 75%.

I can't wait until GE sells PMSNBC and all the other "news networks" and Olby will have to look for another gig.

Yeah, but the one he does on SNF has nothing to do with politics; it relates to the NFL.

Oct 16, 2007, 10:00:00 PM

It's still as shameless a cross promotion as the "Dysnergy" often quoted by AA regarding ABC and Disney.

The point is, the reason they have him on SNF it too promote 'Countdown', which is in effect political.

OK, I guess the bottom line is we agree that NBC should never have allowed him on the set of SNF.

Oct 16, 2007, 10:19:00 PM

Agreed...and you're right, I did kind of go off on Olby...just a bunch of pent up frustration.
