This guy.....

No not Charles Oakley silly or Tim Hardaway (how funny would that be?). Look lower. Yep, Jeff Van Gundy has been brought on full-time to work with Mike Breen and wordsmith Mark Jackson. JVG worked the Playoffs with the two last year and was actually a welcome addition. He was self-loathing and pretty funny in the booth, so a full-time gig seemed pretty evident.

“I am thrilled to be able to work along side of Mike and Mark as we cover the NBA,” said Van Gundy. “Together, we hope to impart some insight, analysis and humor as we cover all the games, great players and the storylines that arise during the season.”
In a related note, I heard Tim Legler on the radio this morning actually voicing his displeasure about the studio show. Apparently they don't even have a host named yet.

Good to see ESPN finally hiring a New Yorker.

Yeah, way to go AA. I was pumped for it to be Oakley. JVG is good and all, but Oakley? He would probably be a 50-50 chance of checking himself into the game to flagrantly foul someone.

He can start by flagrantly fouling Jeff VanGumby.
