Your Championship Week Schedule (UPDATED)

Monday, March 09, 2009

ESPN's coverage of the various College Basketball Conference Tourneys is unprecedented, and this season's Championship Week looks to be even bigger and better than in years past. Among the conferences that ESPN will feature over the ten day period include: the ACC, Big Ten, Big East, SEC, Big XII, Atlantic 10, WCC, MAC, and WAC, and the network will air a ridiculous total of 152 games (men's and women's).

While there are multiple announcing teams covering the various early round conference games, your main teams for the championship games are as follows: ACC- Mike Patrick, Dick Vitale, Heather Cox; Big East- Dan Shulman, Jay Bilas, Doris Burke; MAC- Bob Wischusen, Mark Adams; A10- Dave Pasch Bob Valvano; Big XII- Ron Franklin, Fran Fraschilla, Holly Rowe; WAC- Terry Gannon, Stephen Bardo; SEC (Semifinals)- Brad Nessler, Jimmy Dykes, Jeannine Edwards; WCC- Terry Gannon, Stephen Bardo, Steve Lavin

Here's the rest of your Men's announcing schedule for March 5th- March 15th....

Update: I decided to take the time to fill in some of the teams for the schedule so be sure to find who will be playing when. For a much simpler version, with just the teams listed from major conferences, click the link below....

Gotta say I'm a little disapointed that Nessler and Dykes are returning to Richmond for the CAA Championship game, but oh well. I'll be at the game, so it's not as if it'll make a big difference.

Why did the Big XII move their championship up to Saturday night? They used to have both semi games on ESPN2 on Saturday now all they get nationwide coverage for is the championship game? Seems odd.

The Big East tournament is going to be ridiculous.

I think the same can be said about the Pac-10 in addition to the MVC as I believe FSN has the TV rights for that tournament too with the exception of CBS broadcasting the Championship game.

Jimmy Dykes noticed that this was traveling on Kyle Singler:

ESPN2 just moved the Northeast Conference championship game to 8:30 on Wednesday.

World Baseball Classic is on beforehand and ESPN2/NEC don't want an overlap.

So, 8:30 instead of 8:00.

@ Wiki: I love reading great spam comments!

Re the schedule: For the sake of humanity, PLEASE OH PLEASE MAY THE ACC TITLE GAME NOT BE DUKE-NORTH CAROLINA! I would literally dread another Mike Patrick-Dick Vitale circle jerk cum fest over the 2 teams.

ESPN found a way to make a Stephen Bardo-announced game worse: adding Steve Lavin.

Dick Vitale is doing the ACC? What a shock.
