Best On Bonds Isn't Exactly The Actual "Best"
Tuesday, July 24, 2007
When I think of the "best" articles on Barry Bonds I think of A) The San Francisco Chronicle piece that broke the scandal and B) The SI piece that was excerpted from Game of Shadows. I'm pretty sure those are the two the majority of people think of.
Well ESPN doesn't think so. In an almost Blog-like section titled "The Best on Bonds" the Leader is going through what they consider the "best" Bonds' articles and here's who they have pieces from so far:
Eric Adelson, Wayne Drehs, Gene Wojciechowski, Jayson Stark, Wright Thompson, Tim Kurkjian, Patrick Hruby, Chuck Klosterman, Jim Caple, Jeff Pearlman, Buster Olney, Mark Kreidler, and Rob Neyer
Now what do these folks have in common? You probably guessed after the first 5....they're all employed by ESPN.
Seriously, how self-aggrandizing can you get? This is the actual lead-in....
As Barry Bonds celebrates his 43rd birthday, ESPN.com looks back over the past three years at some of the best stories about Bonds' pursuit of Hank Aaron's all-time home run record.
Come on ESPN....you're better than that. Okay...maybe you're not, but it's okay to link or reference other good articles. Trust me...no one will leave your Monopoly for good.

Chuck Klosterman.
That guy is a tremendous douchebag.
I just can't wait until that dome-growing (stole that from Rome, of course) freak that's the only athlete in the history of the world to actually grow stronger and better as they get older hurries up and breaks the record, retires, and goes underground (hell, maybe?) so that we can stop seeing him plastered all of the television, print, and blogs.
Microsoft, Nike, AT&T....ESPN?
Seriously, these people have to be stopped.
