And Big East is being down by Schulman and Elmore at night on Thursday...I'm pretty sure.

But who cares! New York's governor is involved in a prostitution ring! Must see TV ladies and gentlemen!

Thanks everyone....work in progress here. Pam isn't calling the CAA game (though I wish she was).

Every single second of the Big East tournament is nationally televised (on ESPN, of course!), but I have to live in Bum Fricking Alabama to watch the SEC Tournament.

@jj:

I meant to ask you this question before, but isn't that a function of the conference (in this case, the SEC) trying to get their games on over-the-air channels regionally? The Big 10 used to do this, before they lost their minds and created the BTN. I could be totally off base; it wouldn't be the first time. It's just an idea.

Ha...yes yes. Sorry about that Anon.

Mar 10, 2008, 5:32:00 PM

Rick James,

I don't think so. I think that it is because ESPN is not interested in the SEC at all. Why should they give a shit about a conference whose hotbeds are Birmingham and Baton Rouge-----when they can give you wall to wall coverage to a conference that is big in New York, Philly, Washington, Chicago, etc.? If the markets were reversed, then you wouldn't get any Big East coverage, and the SEC would be on television 24/7. It's as simple as that.

I still say it's more the idea of the SEC to get their games over-the-air in the South. The Big 12 semis are blacked out on ESPN2 in the Midwest so that ESPN Plus can show them over-the-air there. ACC Tourney on ESPN? Blacked out in ACC markets so Raycom can show the games over-the-air. I'll stick to my original idea and you can continue to call me off-base.

Why do they have to put Mike Patrick with Jimmy Dykes on Thursday afternoon. That blows.

What about the CSTV (CBS College Sports) & Versus games? Don't their world class announcers deserve recognition as well?

Go Rebels!
