I've heard that Snoop freestyles on all of his guest appearances and writes for his albums. It all goes back to the great D.O.C. who pretty much changed the way a young Snoop rapped, pre-Doggystyle. He taught Snoop about song structure and the importance of the "verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge" structure. But stuff like that Pussycat Dolls' "Buttons" song... that's all off the top of the dome.
