Maguire And Griese Think Brad Nessler Is Dealing Drugs During The Game

Saturday, November 24, 2007

ESPN actually did a pretty cool thing during the Georgia-Georgia Tech game this afternoon. Brad Nessler switched booths to work with Georgia Radio's Larry Munson whom Nessler used to be partners with awhile back.

While that was all fun and good it was the exchange of goods between Nessler and Munson that caught the eyes of Nessler's partners Paul Maguire and Bob Griese.....

"...had to give Muns that cigar."- Brad Nessler
"We wondered what you were giving him."- Bob Griese
"We've been trading cigars for about 28 years."- Brad Nessler
"Voice sounds a little younger than yours.- Paul Maguire
"Does it?"- Brad Nessler
"We were wondering what you were giving him for after the game. You know my partner over here, he....."- Bob Griese
"I thought you were giving him a bud."- Paul Maguire

And to think, I once labeled the booth of Fowler, James, and Flutie the "Stoner Crew". I think we need to switch that title.

The whole Munson/Nessler dialogue was painful. Especially since Nessler kept interrupting Munson.

Seems like every week there is some sort of alcohol abuse/drug usage reference to be had by this booth. Usually they're thrown at Maguire [which I can because he looks like the creepy drunk uncle type] but I guess Nessler's turn was today.

I think they meant Budweiser. They joked that "Bud" was Maguire's kind of thing. Maguire is a drinker.

Yeah, they meant Budweiser. He didn't say "some bud", he said "a Bud". Come on AA, I thought you were better than that.

Yeah, I'd take this post down, it hurts your credibility (and street cred). Not sure if you had any to begin with, but whatever.

Even if it was Budweiser....the term "Bud" means different things to different people.

Come on.

Gee, awful...is it possible you're assuming EVERYONE reading this site is as stoned as you are?

I'm assuming that most people that read this site understand what weed is and the various ways to smoke it.

Considering the demo that reads the site....I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the readers understood that.

Sorry if you didn't.

Sorry, but pretty clearly a beer reference.

Even if it's a beer reference it's still hilarious, and the meaning is still there.

Bye Anon...thanks for reading.

I wish ESPN would pair up Lee Corso and Paul Maguire in the booth, it would be like Statler and Waldorf of the Muppet Show fame: Two old, crotchety guys who can make us laugh on a dime!
