Colin Cowherd Apparently Doesn't Watch A Lot Of College Football

Monday, November 26, 2007

I don't know if this is a joke or what, but if you head to ESPN.com's "Expert" Power Rankings you find some curious picks from our friend and yours Shrutebag (second column....click for larger).

Umm, USC? Really??? The team that has two losses with one of them being to Stanford? Riiiight. Good work there champ. And I thought College Football was his specialty. What a joke.

Man, I thought he was just having his Cambodian sweatshop children steal material from blogs. They're casting his poll votes now too?

I keep looking at that chart, and I cannot believe they are actually paying this moron for his opinion. Then again, they still employ Emmitt Smith, so maybe it isn't really that surprising.

I am not shocked that the worlds biggest douchebag voted USC #1.

Does anybody want to guess where Colin Cowherd went to school? Hint: It's not Syracuse, Michigan or Notre Dame (so that leaves only one logical conclusion for ESPN employees)

By the way, outside of the obvious bias and conflict of interest, anyone who throws out the "they're playing the best football right now" theory can go fuck themselves.

THEY LOST TO STANFORD. PERIOD.

Why does ESPN have to turn EVERYTHING into a debate involving one of the marquee teams? Now they can spend a month throwing out this "Who's the best team right now" argument. That way, they can include USC, since their research shows that America OBVIOUSLY doesn't care about Missouri and West Virginia.

Colin Cowherd Apparently Doesn't Watch A Lot Of College Football

I'm not convinced he's seen a single game this year after looking at the rest of his rankings.

Good think Mike Greenberg doesn't get a vote. He'd vote for Notre Dame just so he could suck up to Golic.

You forgot to mention that UGA was rolled by Tennessee and is not even playing the SEC title game but they are the number 2 team? Pathetic.

I think Cowherd went to Eastern Washington, anonymous.

I listened to about 5 minutes of his show today. This is something I usually avoid but I hit the preset and didn't change the station immediately. He was going on about how terrible OSU was and that they don't deserve to go to the championship if Missouri or WVU stumbles.

According to the douchebag OSU has no victories against good teams and you can't count Michigan because they lost to Appalachian state. But he can turn around and act like a loss to Stanford is nothing.

Sometimes morons like this get votes in the polls. Wouldn't a 12 team playoff starting in 2 weeks sound fucking great.

I find it funny he says Ohio State has no victories over good teams. What good teams have West Virginia beat? Cincinnati and UConn?

Why ESPN consistantly hires idiots like Cowherd, Emmitt Smith, and Chris Spielman makes me wonder about its management.

And I am not trying to say West Virginia is undeserving. They are deserving of being in title game. But how can apply one set of rules to some and another set to others. It makes you look like a dou... I mean Shrutebag.

Cowherd is an idiot. He himself says that he is a "USC homer" and he just proved that with those ridiculous rankings.

Must say I respect someone who will vote for who he thinks is the best team at this point of the season and not play the whoever hasn't lost recently game. If more people would vote using this logic, we might actually see the best two teams play for once

This is one of the vry reasons that the BCS was created and the polls were devalued because douchebags like Colin Cowherd vote like that in actual polls.

I think he's right in ranking USC over Mizzou. Mizzou is #1 in the BCS, yet they're a 3 point underdog this week at a neutral site against Oklahoma. Say what you want about the Stanford loss...USC would have their way with Mizzou

Please-please-please don't try and defend S-bag's rankings. He has Hawaii at nine. I'm assuming because they are a hard nosed team that plays a shitload of defense and has squeaked by six or seven highly ranked BCS opponents. You know, for all the same reasons he has OSU ranked out of his top five. Or Mizzou not as his number one.

What a horrible horrible joke.

Since I was out of commission yesterday, I'm late to this subject, but just several minutes ago, he defended his list, saying that since he doesn't have a vote in any polls, it's just his opinion. OK, Sparky, whatever...
Herbstreit also called him out earlier in the show about his trashing of USC a few weeks back, and then jumping back on the bandwagon.

Bstone- did you just try to make a case that OSU has actually beaten good teams this year?

i realize i'm a homer, but that d-bag is the only guy that doesn't have bc in his top 15. yet he managed to squeeze in vatech and a 3-loss clemson team, both of whom lost to bc on their home fields. god i hate him

He is nothing more than a wanna be shock-jock. All he does is try and rile people up. He just tries to piss people off. He really has little to no knowledge and double talks his entire show. It is the reason I don't even listen to him anymore...

Hey, do any of you watch college football? USC did lose to Stanford, but on the wining play, due to an injury, there was a freshman on the filed covering that receiver. Also, USC has had several injuries that cost them those 2 games. They are healthy and Vegas backs the HERD. Vegas is rarely wrong.

Vegas is rarely wrong? Didn't they have USC as a 40 point fav over Stanford?
