Steve Beuerlein Is Not A Fan Of USC

Sunday, November 25, 2007

A couple of folks emailed about ex-NFLer Steve Beuerlein's comments coming back from a break and here's the video. LenDale White had just got into it with a Bengals defender after he hit him out of bounds and was flagged for kneeing the DB in the head.

CBS was coming back from commercial when Beuerlein didn't realize they were back and his mic was on....

"USC Thugs"

I don't really associate the word thug with USC, but okay Steve. I think you might be benched for a bit after that comment my friend.

(Many thanks to Barry for pulling the video)

Steve Beuerlein should always remember to keep foolish comments to himself, even during a commercial break...unless he's writing them with a telestrator.

Of course SC SCum are thugs.

Always have been.

They learn zero discipline at SCum.

He should be benched for being terrible. Did you hear that UT-UK game on Saturday?

Cornelius Bennett is waiting for him outside.

This comment by Beuerlein was an obvious attempt to make a jab at Bill Macactee (his partner, and USC supporter)as all ND and USC fans commonly do. I dont think it had anything to do with any particular player, but Beuerlein needs to check his mike next time!

Anthony Davis - Cocaine

While they're not quite Miami, USC has certainly had some thugs in their history. Good for Steve- he's earned the right- he was 4-0 against USC.

maybe he was saying "there are no such things as USC thugs man"

He did get caught in mid sentence. We really have no idea what was said. Good point frostdude1. And yes, heard both of Beuerleins games this wknd, and thought he was a heck of alot better than half of the b/c's out there.

Hilarious. Beuerlein sounded like Lawrence from Office Space.

You people have to relax and learn how to take a joke. I bet if it were a USC commentator taking a shot at a ND player, it would have been really funny.

I don't know about White being a thug but he is definitely a fat ass.

Would Steve Beuerlein even have a job if he didn't play at Notre Dame?

Spoiled Notre Dame pussies.

He is just not much of a comentator. After stumbling through the 5 hr UT-KY game on Saturday, he was hilarious at the opening of the Titans game, mumbling and almost calling the Titans the Vols.

Yep he would be working at your neighborhood McDonald's had he not gone to Notre Dame. This guy is the worst commentator I have heard.

"Rich Gannon thinks this guy is a clown?" Ha!! Guess one can spot another. Have you heard him? Horrible. Thank God for the mute button.

here's the recent 'sc criminal lineup:

rey maualuga: arrested for assault and battery, quoted as saying "we [the usc football team] own the police" thereafter.

winston justice: two-time offender for soliciting prostitution and brandishing a firearm at the campus official

eric "eazy" wright: arrested for possession of hundreds of ecstasy tablets (in a dorm room he shared with current player desmond reed)

reggie bush: perjury? (we'll see)

hershel dennis: sexual assault (in an apartment with several other players present)

and i'm not even mentioning the potential ncaa violations committed by bush and dwayne jarrett.

I find it hilarious that some people are trying to tally the number of criminals/athletes which have come from USC. If we did that for all universities, we'd have some pretty grim statistics. The fact is that sports announcers need to censor themselves and their personal opinions about teams or players; their job is to be unbiased towards those same teams and players as they represent the network and the league it is affiliated with- neither of which by the way are democracies.

I wouldn't mind having SB do the ND games on NBC in lieu of Pat Hades, a Trojan alum. I like Pat but he hasn't said anything new in ten years.

Steve was in fact JOKING with a friend of his in the booth who went to USC ... just razzing his friend in a totally joking manner. The same as if you said to a close friend WHAT A FRIGGIN MORON and it managed it's way on the air when you didnt know you were on air (because the producer didnt flag you) and the public thinks you are referring to a flag a ref just threw, or a play call a coach just made, or a fumble, etc. etc.

This is actually what happened yesterday ... not my opinion.
