Mercury Morris Raps His Feelings About The Patriots

Wednesday, December 05, 2007

Again, I'm this close to rooting for the Patriots.....if this has-been says one more boastful thing I'm moving to Boston, buying all of Ben Affleck's films, and only listening to the Dropkick Murphy's song 'Tessie' for the rest of my life.

Here's Mercury on last night's Sports Center, and be sure to stick around until the 3 minute mark. That's when the fun happens....

"I've been trying to tell you busters you can't play in our town."

Do you think Jay-Z or Stuart Scott is his ghost writer?

Lets face it he loves the attention and probably roots for teams to get 10-0, 11-0, 12-0 just so he can get some face time and be relevent again.

I'd love to see the Patriots go undefeated, as a fan, it'd be an incredible accomplishment to this season and the run this team started on in 2001. Plus it willcut down on Morris' face time as the reporters will all be seking out the new guys on the block the next a team gets close.

The 1972 Dolphins are my most hated team. As much as I don't cheer for the Patriots (as a Colts and Titans fan), I'd love to have them silenced once and for all.

It felt really weird cheering for the Pats in their comeback on Monday night, but if that means them being one step closer to sparing us any more Mercury Morris rap songs, then I'm all for it.

Was this idiot actually a starter or just a guy that looks like Sherman Helmsly (I think). Where Greise, or Csonka?...oh wait, they are not complete tools.

I have been rooting for the Patriots to do it since Week 5 and every time Don Shula or Mercury Morris opens their yap, I'm rooting for them to run the table this year AND next year. btw, we haven't heard from Nick Buoniconti yet. I'm sure that's coming.

Morris had over 1,000 yards rushing in 1972 he was one of three backs they used.

I'm not sure you hear from Buoniconti he played for the Pats as well.

When the 1972 season ended, Morris finished with 991 yards. On Thursday, December 21 -- five days after the Dolphins' last regular season game -- the NFL announced that a review of game films had uncovered a play in which Morris was incorrectly given a loss of 9 yards rushing; therefore, his corrected rushing total for the year was 1,000 yards exactly. This means that NFL officials reviewed game films -- in the pre-digital video age -- to see if statistics were correctly recorded and, miraculously, they found a 9-yard mistake less than a week after the season ended.

In 1982, Morris was convicted of cocaine trafficking and was sentenced to twenty years imprisonment with a mandatory fifteen-year term. On March 6, 1986, his conviction was overturned by the Florida Supreme Court because evidence Morris had offered to prove his entrapment defense had been excluded under a mistaken characterization as hearsay. Morris was granted a new trial. He was able to reach a plea bargain with the prosecutor with the result that he was released from prison May 23, 1986, after having served three years.

As a longtime Patriots fan, I have been thoroughly pleased with this season, and would have been perfectly fine with one or two losses during the regular season. However, after watching Mercury Morris a number of times on SportsCenter, there is nothing that I want more than a 19-0 season, to shut that fucker up. I want him to die a painful, painful death.

Morris is just too out hand right now. He's shaking his fist at the kids skateboarding on sidewalks right now. Deep breath, deep breath...

As a Pats fan, I echo what the local sports talk radio guys were saying...if the Pats go 19-0, please, for the love of all that is holy, they need to all pledge that in 25 years, when another team is close to going undefeated, no Pats will appear on this kind of sh*t. Can you imagine an old Heath Evans rapping?

I said it on Fanhouse, but really, who knows more about stepping on crack than Mercury Morris.

Most of us hate the Pats, but I truly hate these assholes more.

I hate the Patriots, but I would love to see 19-0. Too bad the Super Bowl isn't in Miami this year, too.

Even if the Patriots lose this year, none of their players have ever been raped in prison.

Dear Mr. Morris:

Saw an interview where you said that the Pats weren’t “…even in (your) neighborhood yet”. Um, think they’re not only in your neighborhood, they’re in your HOUSE, and probably doing your wife (do you even have a wife?)! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

I remember the excitment I felt in 72 as a kid. I was happy for that Miami team.
Today, I just want them to go away. They have stole from me that excitment, and If the pats win it all, I gain it back. And the 72 team can rot in history.

The Pat's loss must hurt the Mercurial Morris haters down deep!

Bellicose is a cheater. The Phin's '72 team now looks that much sweeter.

Many more years of havin' to listen to ole Merc the Jerk have a go. He looks pretty healty now that he's off the blow.

Here's to Team Shula! You know they are raising their glasses!

Glad to see the Patriots fall... although I do not look forward to ESPN promoting Morris' rap album again. Seriously, he was exploited and will be again this offseason.

But that new commercial of "perfect" is quite entertaining -- http://www.mindritesports.com/2008/02/05/72-dolphins-perfectville-ad/

Bump those Pats and their smug coach!
