The reason the announcers couldn't get it right is because they still assign that asshole homer Jay Bilas to every Duke game that the asshole random Duke fan (DICKy V) isn't doing.

Bilas usually does a pretty good and unbiased job with Duke games. Better then Vitale at least. Last night would have been unbearable with him.

FSU committed 6 fouls once they were down 5 with 1:30 left (compared to one from Duke) and had to foul to save the clock. So just saying that Duke had a +5 foul differential is a bit misleading. FSU got back into the game largely because they were in the bonus with 14:00 left in the 2nd half. Paulus does act like a douche, but he got a T for kicking and Reid got a T for throwing the punch.

Where are you pulling the foul differential stats from, BP? I couldn't find them at ESPN, kenpom, basketballstate...

I've never made any excuses for Duke getting more fouls than everyone else, but the person above makes a good point. If your leading at the end of the game, as Duke often does, you are going to get a bunch of fouls. As far as announcing goes, I think Bilas does a good job, since most Duke fans dislike him greatly, but it really is ESPN's fault for putting him on Duke games. He's either going to come off as a homer or say everything possible to not be a homer. ESPN kinda screws him in that regard.

FSU had shot more free throws than Duke until the very end of the game when FSU had to foul to get the ball back.

If Paulus played for any other team, he wouldn't be nearly so hated. I find it wildly hypocritical that the Duke-haters complain about Duke being whiny. Give it a rest, fellas.

Also, the difference in fouls was 3 more called on FSU, which is the fouls that they intentionally gave at the end of the game.

I think it's pretty old news that Duke and UNC get all the calls from the refs/love from the announcers.

Reid definitely deserved a foul called on him for "throwing a punch" but he did it because he was trying to protect his teammate from getting kicked and scratched by that C-word Paulus. No fouls would have been called if Paulus acted like a man during an aggressive play on the floor.

If any of you actually watched the scrum that resulted in the double technicals on Paulus and Reid instead of resorting to standard Duke bashing you would have seen that Paulus kicked his legs as a direct result of getting an intentional blow to the face from the back of Isaiah Swann's hand after the whistle.
Swann hit Paulus, Paulus kicked back, then Reid hit Paulus.
