This was pretty cheesy up until the part where Hubert Davis goes nuts and then it was just weird.

Whoa Hubert....settle down there friend.

Yeah and I'm on the west coast so I had just woken up. Thanks to Hubert I became wide awake very quickly.

College Gameday for football is ten times better than this crap.

I saw the whole thing on ESPNews...WHY?
All of these "Pep Talks" have outlived their usefulness: Holtz, now Tebow, the new MasterCard commercial where Peyton couldn't give himself a pep talk after the playoff loss.
Only Erin Andrews should be giving people pep talks.

They just showed this again. My wife knows who Tim Tebow is and knows what College GameDay is, but this required a lot of explaining. "Why's a football player in the basketball locker room? Who were those other people? Why do they need a pep talk? It's their jobs!"

Hubert made up for Tim Tebow being in this sketch, though.

We saw more than enough Tebow fellating from ESPN during football season and now we have to see this crap? C'mon. And College Gameday for basketball makes ESPN Mobile look like a hit.

The only thing worse than this Tebow pep talk is the new 'College Gameday' commercial with the dude with Digger, Rece & Jay Bilas growing out of him at a fancy restaurant. The commercials and forced stuff they've been trying lately is proof positive that you can't have a reasonable facsimile of a great concept (College Gameday for football).

Is it me or did Hubert look like he needed a CP helmet at the end?

Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure that based on today's ep of Gameday, Hubert has 86 teams in the field of 65.

What happened to Digger? Either he's not that good an actor, or he's embarrassed himself enough in the many stage roles he's had in the last few months.

Hey AA, Doug Gottlieb gave you a shout-out when they showed this clip on Midnight Madness. They're watching you......

And Awful Announcing just got a namedrop on ESPN. After they showed the clip, someone in studio said "It just keeps getting funnier and funnier. Youtube, Awful Announcing, what do you got?"

Or something to that effect.

Hah, I saw the clip on ESPNews and heard the shout-out to Awful Announcing that others mentioned above, I came here to make sure I wasn't hearing things, I guess I wasn't.

Now, while this clip/sketch was ridiculous to the nth degree, College Basketball Gameday runs circles around College Football Gameday without question.

@anon 10:37:

You can't be serious, can you? Better in what ways? A lot of the elements of the basketball version seem forced: the two one-hour editions, that half-court shot thing they were doing last year. Not to mention the fact that they have to lock in these matchups in advanced (UK-UF last night? Not the showcase game yesterday). I guess if you're trying to see how Digger pairs his tie and highlighter together, it's better.

Hi Doug! I think the Basketball version definitely needs some work, but that's mainly because they chose the wrong people to do the show. Digger and Jay are just too serious and don't seem like they're having fun.

I like Hubert Davis a bit, and if you threw in a Gottlieb or someone young it would mesh better with the college atmosphere.
