I Never Knew Announcers Took Field Trips

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

So in between Brent Musburger's constant references of Wisconsin player Brian Butch being a Polar Bear the crew actually showed a clip of them ice fishing. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did...

EA with the pigtails? Very nice. And is it just me or did Brent Musburger say, "when you go ice fishing with Lavin's Mom"? I guess we'll never know, but we do know that Brent's is bigger than Steve's.....which is nice.

Michigan sure is on TV a lot, you know, being a 5-14 team and all. God, ESPN and CBS want them to win in college basketball so badly.

He didn't say with "Steve's mom," he said with Stiesma (a player on Wisconsin)

Oh...ha you're right. Good ears. Listen to it fast again though and it sounds like Steve's mom.

Haha, I see where you got it from. It sounds like Steve's mom but I saw the graphic and it said "Greg Stiemsma" who is a player so that's how I figured it out. I would not put anything past Musburger though, haha.

Next game -- show us Erin playing strip poker by herself or with a college frat.

So who got first dibs on Erin during the trip Lavin, Musberger, or the dark horse Krabbenoff.

You can;t make fun of the old fisher.

This is so excited, and so exactly what a college basketball game needs. :)

@ anon 11:19
This is further proof of the Big 10/ND bias at the WWL and CBS. I think they should do what CSTV does and show the school and year of graduation below the announcer's
name so the agenda is out in the open.

Wait until football season when the Saturday night game will involve one of the following every week: Mich, OSU, ND and/or USC. If
"tadition" allows it.

About the video:

A game where one team leads the other by two points, and theyre still talking about it after the game restarts! This was worse than
the Williams thing during MD-UNC on Saturday.

Nice work by EA with the power tool, but she should be used to working with tools by now.

There is actually a second part to this video. It aired during the second half. More of these kind of segments are needed. One of the more popular segments on ESPN during college football was Todd Blackledge eating at all those different places.

"More of these kind of segments are needed."

Um ... no. Not late in a close game, at least. (Preferably not during a game at all ... I'm watching because I want to see a @#$%!ing basketball game, not ice fishing or a lesson on the origins of somebody's last name. How about you tell us who got called for the foul instead of showing us your fishing licenses, you miserable @#$%!ing excuse for a broadcaster?)
