I Hope This Was A Mistake ESPN Because You Don't Want This #### Again

Friday, January 04, 2008

For some reason unbeknownst to annoy this afternoon ESPN decided to put the comments back on the most recent Bill Simmons article. They've since been taken down but the damage is still viewable to all. Again, I don't condone jacking anyone's site just like Shrutebag did to The Big Lead....I'm just questioning their decision if this was in fact a conscious choice.....

I don't get it. What's your beef?
Oh wait -- it's EZZZZPN!
Deal with it yourself.
They got you riled up, so they got you hooked now into checking their internet site every couple minutes. You'll flip thru their channels every couple minutes.
Face it! You're an EZZZZPN junkie caught in their web!
Seek rehab immediately.

Who's Bill Simmons and why should anyone care?

Maybe it's because I have a nasty cold and am heavily medicated, but...
Huh? I don't understand.

they enabled comments on simmons' articles, then almost immediately disabled them. doesnt make sense for them to have done that because people went off on him last time, so it seems like it was a mistake. they want to protect their golden boy.

and as far as simmons, i think his articles really have gone downhill since hes become a pseudo celebrity. people liked his article because it did seem like a normal guy writing about sports, now its about coffee shops and "my friend jimmy", you know, the one with the TVs in his kitchen.

i think people defend him more than anyone else because they have this delusional idea that they'll meet him one day and he will be just like them and will talk sports all night long with them, when in all likelihood hes probably a douchebag

All likelihood he's a douchebag? Have you ever read his articles?

Hell, I'm from Boston and even I know he's a douchebag.

I still like him but when he tries to say that the there are conspiracies against the Pats and how they get screwed over, it's a lot of overkill.

he'd a short little pud with a nasaly voice. his columns went into the toilet the moment boston beat new york in game 7 back in 04. sports in-general have been crap since chowd-area teams started winning.

Wet Mop > Bill Simmons (ESPN) > Jay Mohr (Fox Sports)

Sorry for the lack of background. Deadspin readers basically killed the comments on Simmons Articles a year ago.
