Looks Like Herm Edwards Is Staying On For The Playoffs

Thursday, January 10, 2008

I was really hoping that this would be a one week thing especially after providing absolutely nothing last week, but alas....that doesn't appear to be the case....

This week’s NFL line-up will include Saturday and Sunday editions of Sunday NFL Countdown pre-game show, weekday editions of NFL Live, and weekend editions of NFL Matchup and the NFL PrimeTime highlights show. Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards (pictured between Stan Verrett and Sean Salisbury) is scheduled to make a guest analyst appearance this week. He will appear on NFL Live Thursday and Friday at 4 p.m. ET and the Saturday morning SportsCenter.
Yes folks he'll provide even more hard-hitting commentary like this....

Question: " What AFC team has the best chance to beat the Patriots?"
Herm's Answer: "Everybody has a chance. It's according to how you play the day you play. The Pats are on a great run. They have a great QB. There are probably some teams out there that have a chance to beat them, but I'm not going to say who they are".

(Thanks to reader Mal for the quote)

If any other coach were to make that comment, it'd be etched onto his tombstone. But note Herm, because he plays to win the game.

Classic Herm, oh his quotes are missed as a Jets fan.

His coaching however is not.

With a little more work and a lot more crazy, Herm might just provide us with football's answer to Joe Morgan.

ESPN should pay Trent Green whatever he wants. He is by leaps and bounds a better analyst than anyone they currently employ. Herm Edwards is a clown and there is a reason why he doesn't win.

Glad to see our coach is already hard at work rebuilding out wonderful 4 win team in the off season. I guess if you’re not in the playoffs might as well go talk about them.
Hey Herm see if you can identify a team that knows how to score touchdowns. If you can go and ask that coach how he makes it happen, take good notes, then come back to KC and make it happen here.

I remember the day, 3 years ago, where our offense averaged 35+ a game, now it’s 10 ... Great Job.

That is just some top-notch journalism right there from Herm. Keep up the good work, "coach".

"Coach, what do you think we should do now? We need a play!"

"Well, I think that it looks like you're on a roll so I think you have a good chance to run a play today, but I'm not gonna tell you what it is."

shouldn't herm be at the senior bowl or something scouting talent?
4-wins makes you an expert at ESPN -- combined with combo skin.

Yeah, whichever network lands Trent Green is going to be very happy. Let's hope it's FOX, and that they fire Terry Bradshaw to make room.

On the bright side, perhaps he'll learn to look at the camera by the time the playoffs are over. Since he hasn't. Ever.
