The Sports Blogger's Round One Mock Draft

Friday, April 20, 2007

I figured I'd take the time to put up a condensed version of the Sports Blogger's Round One Mock Draft, so you can compare your pick with the experts. Thanks again to all of the sites that helped with this (even the ones in the week long 2nd round draft). It was a blast, and I can't wait to do it for NBA Draft.

I was kidding everyone when I said that I'd be grading this thing. With the exception of one "GM" every team drafted a need and a good player. Great job overall, and we'll see how we do the weekend after next.

Review:

Conferences: SEC (11), BIG 10(6), ACC (5), BIG XII (4), PAC 10 (2), BIG EAST (1), Other (2)

Positions: QB (2), RB (2), WR (4), TE (1), O-Line (3), D-Line (7), LB (5), Secondary (8)

Jokes and Misc: Guy's Level of Hotness (12), Making fun of UM (3), Genetalia (23), Discovery Channel Shows Mentioned (3), Censored Words (endless)

Also, Hail Redskins was kind enough to add our Mock Draft to their overwhelming list of Drafts. They have the largest database on the internet, and it's extremely impressive. Check it out when you get a moment.

Thanks for putting it all together. I'm sure I was the "One 'GM'", but I picked as I would as a high school coach -probably not necessarily as an NFL GM - because that's all I know.

I also dig the VTech tribute with the color scheme. Well done.

AA, are you going to post Round 2 when its finished?

Apr 20, 2007, 3:32:00 PM

it's not a matter of when, it's if it's finished.

That was fun. Waiting for my turn in the second round -- not so much. At least my top choice there isn't gone -- YET.

i agree with mookie. and aa thank you for doing this , I was going to do a round 3 but seeing how long round 2 is taking i imagine 3 never finishing ever. If we are going to do this for the nba can i get the suns first pick... or the wizards ( is it too early to call dibs?)

I wonder if Leitch's inexplicable pass on Joe Thomas was meant to be commentary on the Cardinals' draft history? Or, most likely, he wasn't paying attention.
