What Does Meshawyn Know About College Football?

Tuesday, April 24, 2007

I'm sorry....but do you really think Keyshawn Johnson knows anything about the collection of college players in the Draft this year? I mean honestly....what in his past leads you to believe that he would be a good draft analyst?

Was it the study of countless drafts like Corey Chavous that would lead you to believe that? Or was it when he called Ronde Barber an Uncle Tom?

Was it this phone call???

Please give me some sort of explanation here!!!

Sorry....these things get me heated up occasionally. So if you haven't heard one of the 27....that's right 27! analysts ESPN will feature (across all platforms) is Keyshawn Johnson. And I don't entirely blame ESPN for this move. I partially blame Keyshawn. Just think about it. What is ESPN trying to do? They're trying to replace the flashy, trash-talkin', controversial African American Wide Receiver. So they tab Keyshawn. If you're Keyshawn Johnson do you really want that label again? Because whether you act that way or not...that's how people will look at you.

And you may not want to be throwing around that "Uncle Tom" label anymore if you know what I'm saying. I'm not condoning that phrase in the least, but when you say b.s. like that it always comes back to bite you in the arse.

Here's the full list if you're interested...

Berman, Kiper, Mortensen, Young, K. Johnson, Tirico, Jaworski, Kornheiser, Kolber, Wingo, Mark May, Salisbury, Michael Smith, Rachel Nichols, Paolantonio, Ed Werder, Stan Verrett, Merril Hoge, Todd McShay, Floyd Reese, John Clayton, Shrutebag, Jeremy Green, Keith Kidd, Len Pasquarelli, Steve Muench, and blogger Matt Mosley.

P.S.- I have no idea who Matt Mosley is and how he became an ESPN blogger. Can someone shed some light on this? Was this another True Hoop type deal??? I'm so confused.

What's worse than Meshawn covering the draft? Eight hours of Schrutebag on ESPN Radio perhaps? Hmmmm. Tough call. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Matt Mosely used to blog about the Cowboys at the Dallas Morning News. As soon as the ball went through Romo's hands, he jumped ship:)
