Would Wily Mo Have Made That Play?

All bias aside...how can you not enjoy this picture from last night's Red Sox-Yankees game?
Say what you want about Coco Crisp - he can't hit, the Red Sox shouldn't have given up Andy Marte to get him, he can't handle the pressure of Boston - but admit two things: the man can play centerfield and he doesn't give a damn what he does to his body to make a catch (or, in this case, almost make a catch).
Regarding today's game: I'm pleased to announce that Tim McCarver and Joe Buck are already in mid-season form. McCarver made an obvious statistical error before the first pitch had been thrown (Josh Beckett had 16 wins last year, not 17 - hey, it was obvious to ME) and Buck put the hex on Beckett's string of three straight wins with only one run allowed and at least five strikeouts (kind of lame parameters to begin with, but irrelevant now - two runs allowed in the top of the first).
J.D. Drew is 0-1 today. Bob Ryan was right - what a bust.
Oh, and to answer the question in the title: have you ever SEEN Wily Mo Pena? He probably wouldn't have even bothered with jumping - just run through the wall, Rodney McCray-style, and make the catch.
Labels: FOX Baseball, Joe Buck, MLB, Tim McCarver, where's the rest of him?

I guarantee that picture is in the "Leading Off" portion of SI next week.
I have an unbelievable hatred for Tim McCarver. Doesn't the Constitution say Fox has to wait until at least July till we hear his stupid idiot voice?
Oh wait...Josh Beckett just threw a fastball clocked at 98. BRING OUT THE FLAMING RADAR GUN!
On second thought, I have an unbelievable hatred for Fox baseball coverage.
