Introducing To The Masses...."Beck Cam"
Monday, July 09, 2007
You would think that after skipping out on 5 days of posts that I would have something genius ready to go. Not the case at all....it's yet another annoying ESPN move! Yay!!!
Apparently the leader plans on using 19...19!!! On-field cameras for David Beckham's debut with the Galaxy in a friendly on July 21st. But more importantly, one special camera will be transfixed on Becks for the entire match...
ESPN has announced plans to offer blanket coverage of the Galaxy's friendly against the Blues on July 21 - the game earmarked for Beckham's first appearance as a Galaxy player. The network also plans to add a pre-game show (for an exhibition match), add a 1-hour Documentary on Becks, AND have his new best friend Reggie Bush be a guest during the program.
ESPN will carry the game live with 19 cameras following the action on the field and one will be trained exclusively on the former England captain, who has signed a five-year deal worth up to £125million with the Galaxy.
It's Becks, It's Bush, It's Soccer that doesn't count for anything and all this for someone who may only play in the game for 20 minutes!!! It's the Galaxy versus the Blues....On ESPN 360!!!

If David Beckham plays soccer in the US and no one watches/cares, does he make a sound???
Soccer sucks and is boring.
Anonymous sucks and is boring.
I'll watch, but this is typical of ESPN. Blow the whole wad on a game that means exacle jack shit to either team. Galaxy has trouble beating Real Salt Lake, let alone a vacationing Chelsea.
The fixed player camera is actually quite common on SkySports broadcasts of Premiership matches in England. Surprising that ESPN didnt create it first. And people will watch. Look at the ratings for the Gold Cup, and that was on what station?
***This just breaking!!!***
ESPN will have the first ever jockstrap cam to see how to bend it like Beckham!
Soccer does NOT suck - only plebians continue to say that. And I will watch - why not? It should be fun.
Does anybody care? Is anyone going to actually watch that?
