ESPN Now Using Blogs To Fill Up Space
Tuesday, November 13, 2007
I didn't even know this section of ESPN.com (haven't been there in awhile) existed until Hardwood Paroxysm pointed me to it yesterday, but apparently ESPN has a new section off of it's NBA Main page titled "NBA Local News". At first glance it seems like just a collection of team specific stories from papers around the country, but after a closer look there's more within the page.
It links blogs....a lot of them. And they don't censor the titles of the posts either (click for larger photo)....
That's right....Cant's Stop The Bleeding's NBA Post titled "A Warning To The Rest Of The Association : Run Up The Score On Milwaukee, Get Punched In The Cock" is right there for the world to see. A hilarious title indeed (and a great post), but it's very odd that they would censor comments (i.e.- The Simmons Incident), but leave a word like "Cock" on on of the main pages of their site.
Other blogs that I, and Hardwood Paroxysm have found so far....The Big Lead, MVN, Mark Cuban's Blog Maverick, Fan of Sports, Jazz Fanz, and my personal favorite....Powell's Books Event Calendar. (They've been in my RSS Reader for months)
I can't tell you whether these sites have signed up or not or if ESPN has turned their giant RSS Reader into a page. I can tell you who's not on there.....me baby....me. Oh and Deadspin. Maybe we're on that blacklist thingy, or better yet.....AA's Underground!!!
Apparently, ESPN Doesn't Hate the Blogosphere THAT Much. (Hardwood Paroxysm)

You don't need ESPN. After all, most of their analysts would likely hate you for what you do.
Maybe they think Cock is referring to a rooster.
Obviously your underground. That is, unless, you have an above-ground basement at least.
