Your College Football Announcing Schedule Week 11

Tuesday, November 06, 2007

Here's your weekly installment of Announcing Team locations. We get a special treat week as Chris Spielamn gets two games, and WWE's Coach (Jonathan Coachman) is inexplicably calling a CSTV game with ex-NFL Tight End Roland Williams. If you're just hiring random people CSTV....I'll do a game for free!

I'm a;sp surprised that Brent Musburger and Co. didn't get the CAL-USC game. I thought that was a prerequisite for that team. This week's schedule is brought to by SI's Cheerleader of the Week, Washington State University's Jesica Calkins. Jes wants you to know who is calling which game and also that she's huge Lil Wayne and T-Payne fan!

The Coach!!! That's hilarious.

It's put up or shut up time this week for Spiels. This is the week when he wins or loses his Pammy.

Hey they actually sent Musberger and Herbie to the better game...

Unfortunately for the 97th straight time I get the USC game..

Spielman doing the Army game...

Over under how many times he compares college football to the military.

30.5 to start.

ESPN is airing MAC football on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

It must be Sweeps.

Lou Holtz back in the booth can only mean one thing: More "Dynasty" references!

Mark Chmura wasn't available?

Yeah. That was a hell of a plan, ABC, to pre-schedule all of those USC games for primetime. Thanks.

Easy on the MAC football hate, anon. We are a proud conference.

Choosing between reading the stories here or reading the comments is like choosing between Joan Collins and Linda Evans.

I am sure that Herbie told them to stick it and he wasn't flying cross country for the 2nd straight week. Just another reason not to have Gameday at a D3 school in the NorthEast.

I wasn't hating on the MAC. Actually, I'm surprised that C-USA didn't get in on that too.

I was actually referring that Sweeps stunt (was it Sweeps?) a few years ago where ESPN aired games on something like 17 straight days.

Thank God, I was afraid I would be stuck with Holtz covering the CMU-WMU game.

I can see Jones and Davie waxing philosophic about the last game in the Orange Bowl., especially if it's a blowout. I'm wondering how many times the Flutie pass will be shown...

Conference USA made the same smart choice that the Mountain West did in having most of their games on CS-ing TV.
At least Utah & Air Force had the multitude of their games on Thursday night.

"TBA [simulcast of Fresno State's local coverage]"

Cheap bastards. It's not like they could've sent Pam Ward and/or Dean Blevins or some other lackey with no job to go out there....Oh yeah, and have Erin Andrews on the sidelines.

Too bad Oklahoma State lost to Texas. Gameday would have been at Stillwater,OK, for the KU-OSU game. Instead of some stupid D-III game.

In addition, College GameDay is going to the Amherst-Williams game, which is the oldest rivalry in Division III college football. I saw this on the BottomLine last night.
