Welcome Back To Emmittville, Everyone!

Friday, August 08, 2008

I'm not going to lie to everyone, Emmitt seems much improved over last year. He's been through television training camp and you can tell already that he'll be better this year. With that said, Emmitt simply does not belong on television unless he's dancing. Here is Emmitt trying to explain....well I'm not sure really....on Sports Center's Cold Hard Facts last night and it's your Monday Night Football Vid of the night #1....

My personal favorite part was the, "Come face.....come to terms" part, but there are so many layers of this clip that it's tough to settle on just one. It's like an onion. Number one....First of all, I honestly have no idea what he was trying to say at all. I was confused, then on board, then lost, back on board, and then in Guam. Also, why does Favre need to realize that the Cowboys were and integral part of your career, Emmitt?

The best part though.....it was only 30 seconds! There's not a person in the world that could confuse me more in that short amount of time. He continues to amaze me every single time he comes on-air, and there's not a lot of people you can say that about.

It's good to have you back Emmitt.

@anonymous - Trey Wingo ("say it again!")

My favorite part about Emmitt is that if you listen, you can hear his brain grinding while he's talking - the idea is there, but the mouth just can't make it happen.

Brain: "When I went from the Cowboys to the Cardinals, it was very difficult since I left a lot of friends behind, and being a cowboy was such a big part of my identity. It's going to be hard for Brett too."

Mouth: "What Brett..realize..cowboys big part of me...lifeline...not working...have to move on.."

The first thing Brett needs to realize is that the Cowboys were such an integral part to Emmitt's career.

Once he gets over that barrier he'll be great.

I love it when he goes, and he always does this, "I realized, HEY, what you're doin is...he's gotta say, HEY...etc etc."

He's, like, talking to himself or having other people talk to themselves.

Here's the thing, number one, first of all.

LOL, incheugal part.

Great post. I did see that as well on Sportscenter, and I'm like "what in the world is he saying?"
I want to know what secrets does Emmitt know to keep his job there?
Berman's? Stuart Scott's?

Yeah, I too was watching this on SC, and had to pause for a second to make sure Comcast's feed wasn't screwing up, because that was unbelievably bad.

Then I realized, Oh, it's just Emmitt.

Emmitt is the ultimate existentialist... all his points are ethereal. One can only grasp his meaning by taking his answer and then making tangential leaps to where it was LIKELY Emmitt was going.

He really does have long career as a famous academic ahead of him.

First of all, number one, and secondly, number two, as confirmed to ESPN by Michael Smiff.

How does this guy continue to be employed by ESPN?

He's so bad....just awful. And it's not like they have a shortage of analysts.

Are they desperate to keep Cowboys fans as viewers? I don't understand why he's still talking, when he just can't express himself at all...at all.

i wanna have a round table conversation of emmit smith tim mccarver john madden and yogi berra and just let the hilarity ensue

emmit smith: so yea brett is going to have to realize that dalls was a big part of me

McCarver: yes i agree brett will have to learn that or else he'll never make it in the MLB

Madden: no i dont agree with you emmit you see brett is going to have to go to new york then get on a plane and then go to green bay and throw to T.O. if hes open

Berra: well i think brett did the good thing here because he saw a fork in the road and grabbed it because it gets late early out in green bay so hes going to play in new york to go to a someones funeral or else they wont go to his.
