The Four Minutes That Show How Every Redskins Fan Feels About Art Monk
Sunday, August 03, 2008
Darrell Green is by far my favorite Football player to ever play the game, but yesterday was all about Art Monk. I think this four minute standing ovation shows exactly how every Football fan feels about his entrance into the Hall....
Congrats Art....it's about damn time.

True or false?
Art Monk did not thank Joe Gibbs?
Very very good question. I don't think he did. Interesting.
That clip didn't even let me know where I could have watched X Games 14. Bastards.
Nice interview during the game with Monk. What a class act! On another note - how are we not doing a live open thread with this game?
Anybody know why Irvin was allowed to wear his yellow blazer when all the other previous inductees werent?
I didn't come up a 'Skins fan, but I always liked the team in the late 80s and 90s. Watching this was just unbelieveable. Hard to not be happy for the man.
there is a post on PFT about the Monk ovation, some big time Monk hate in the comments.
I liked his speech, but the one that was linked to on Kissing Suzy Kolber is the one he should have given.
There should have been a live open thread on last night's Russia-USA exhibition game last night, Mal. Kidding. Silly question, but NFL Network's Adam Schefter is only doing the sidelines for tonight's game because every other NBC employee is in China?
"There should have been a live open thread on last night's Russia-USA exhibition game last night,"
I'm so wasted!
tainted
At the start of the game, they said andrea kremer is in China.
The only possible speech he could have given that would have been appropriate would have been this four-word beauty:
"I don't deserve this."
Well deserved honors for Monk and Green. Wish I could say the same for the Washington fans who were inside the stadium for the induction ceremonies.
I've been watching these ceremonies for years and I can't remember such a crude and overbearing bunch of fans at the HOF than what I saw yesterday. It was a ceremony to celebrate great heroes of the game....not to hear a bunch of fans singing "Hail to the Redskins" or badgering Michael Irvin (whether Irvin deserves it or not isn't the point....you don't do that at the Hall of Fame). It was shameful.
anyone know when AA started screening comments? one of mine was removed, whats the point in commenting if you happen to have a different point of view if he is just going to pick and choose what is published.
"anyone know when AA started screening comments?"
Whenever calling someone gay became a 'different point of view.'
/one of the 11 people who saw that comment last night
I left a comment this morning not last night.
it was about ea
Anon has it right. I don't mind cursing, or even someone disagreeing with me. If you want to be homophobic or racist, you can go somewhere else.
They're all erased. I can't catch everything that comes through as I'm just one person running this site.
You should also seriously grow up. If you want to add something relevant and disagree with me feel free. If not....go away. No one will miss you.
oh but it is fun to fuck with you aa
That's fine....continue to do so. read every post, and keep contributing to the bottom line. It's much appreciated.
As a Cowboys fan who grew up in the DC area, I LOATE the Redskins. But I have been on the Art Monk for HOF bandwagon since day 1. I was shocked to see Irvin get in before him, and was very happy for him when the hall finally called. He was the consummate gamer.
Now, lets get Bob Hayes in already!
Hey! I'm happy for Art Monk, but nothing on the death of Skip Caray???
I disagree.
