NBC Likely Flexing The Skins-Ravens Game In Week Fourteen
Monday, November 24, 2008
We knew that a flex was likely coming for Week Fourteen's Patriots-Seahawks game, but we weren't exactly sure which game was going to go in its place. The options were WAS-BAL, NO-ATL and PHI-NYG, and while I really thought it was going to be the Eagles-Giants, an Eagles loss against the Ravens made the Skins-Ravens game the most appealing. Well the Saints-Falcons would probably be the better game, but Skins-Ravens will surely pull in more in the terms of ratings.
The network has until tomorrow, but that's what I'm hearing from a handful of people this morning.
Expect NBC To Only Flex One Game This Year (Awful Announcing)

id rather see saints falcons.
matt ryan and drew brees.
nfc south playoff battle.
we've seen enough nfc east stuff.
They might be saving another flex for Giants-Panthers in Week 16 as well if it comes down to home field.
hmmm...what about Dallas at Pittsburgh?
Fox locked DAL-PIT down earlier in the season.
I don't think I've gotten an NFC South vs. NFC South game all year.
Is Flexing Allowed in Week 16 (NYG vs CAR) I thought they lose the rights to flex on week 16 to get a 6 day look to see who plays on week 17
Redskins-Ravens is confirmed for the Sunday night slot per the NFL and AP.
CBS gets a mashup in return: 7 games, 4 of them at 4:05 ET, with Jets-49ers now frozen out of New England.
The Saints are playing on Thursday the 11th, so I don't think they were able to move their game on the 7th.
And the Giants only have one more primetime game left in them, and as mentioned, the NFL is probably waiting for their game against Carolina in Week 16 to flex.
I think the Ravens/Redskins game was likely moving to SNF regardless of what happened yesterday.
I think a lot of people don't respect the Ravens, many of them are not football experts, so that's all right. I think Skins/Ravens will be an excellent game and Falcons/Saints is also appealing as well but it's not fair to New Orleans to play Sunday night then travel to Chicago on the upcoming Thursday.
These are now official that New England/Seattle flexed out of Sunday Night...
1:00pm
Jacksonville @ Chicago - Greg Gumbel/Dan Dierdorf
Houston @ Green Bay - Gus Johnson/Steve Tasker
Cincinnati @ Indianapolis - Ian Eagle/Solomon Wilcots
Cleveland @ Tennessee - Don Criqui/Dan Fouts
4:05pm
Kansas City @ Denver - Bill Macatee/Steve Beuerlein
N.Y. Jets @ San Francisco - Jim Nantz/Phil Simms
Miami vs. Buffalo (Toronto) - Kevin Harlan/Rich Gannon
New England @ Seattle - Dick Enberg/Randy Cross
Look for the Skins to go 0-4 in primetime after their loss to the Ravens. Al & John will then say: THE REDSKINS ARE A TEAM IN TROUBLE AFTER LOSING THEIR LAST 2 GAMES AND 4 OF THEIR LAST 5. It's interesting that Nantz & Simms are in SF for that game in 2 weeks.
How is it remotely possible that a one loss team gets stuck with Don Criqui and Dan Fouts?
Because the Browns suck.
I just can't wait to watch Santana Moss punch Ed Reed in the face and not get ejected.
Should....better be a good game.
