That's Adrian Peterson, Brian Urlacher, 50 Cent, Dwight Howard, and David Ortiz in an ad for Vitamin Water. The first two are featured in tonight's action on NBC.
But first, catching up with the late slate:
- The Steelers are opening the can up on the Patriots in Foxborough. Two TD passes from Big Ben and three Jeff Reed FGs have them up 23-10. Pitt's defense has brought Matt Cassel back to earth this week.
- Jay Cutler has thrown for 300+ yards and the third quarter isn't quite done in New Jersey. Broncos have a 10-point lead on the Jets, thanks to a fumble recovery for a score and touchdowns from Peyton Hillis and Eddie Royal. Thomas Jones has hit paydirt twice for the Jets.
- Atlanta is up 6 on San Diego thanks to 2 TD throws by Matt Ryan, two FGs, and a safety. An Eric Weddle fumble recovery for a score has SD still in the game, and they're about to get the ball back with 3:15 left in the 4th.
- Another fumble recovery for a touchdown has spurred the Chiefs to a lead in the Cripple Fight in Oakland. The Raiders actually got worse from the first half to the second half. Chiefs up 20-10.

Well the Jets just gifted the other AFC East teams life in the division race with this awful performance.
Updating you on the Burgess incident, there's reports that all gun shot wounds are to be reported to the NYPD according to local law, and there's been some flummoxing on that story.
PlAxico
Cassel throws another INT, 5 turnovers, 4 by him alone.
@SS: Hope you didn't pick him up for your fantasy team this week.
JFein - I want to smack Costas for that just as hard as I'd like to hit all the ESPN Countdown crew this morning when they talked about it.
Costas has the luxury of being white and not knowing what it was like to grow up in an inner city with gang violence. Tiki Barber raised a serious point: these are men who have grown up with a mentality that you are better off protecting yourself than trusting a security force.
Costas and his ilk know not of what they speak and are better off shutting the fuck up.
I'm not excusing what Plaxico Burress did -- it was extraordinarily dumb to have a weapon with the safety off and it go off like that. But if you can't understand why black athletes would feel like arming themselves when they are rich and are targets, you shouldn't speak on it.
SSR - the Chargers also just handed the Broncos the AFC West on a platter. San Diego would have to win all of its remaining four games and hope the Broncos lose two others besides their matchup in week 17. All Denver has to do is win two out of the next four, I think, and the division is theirs.
So, when is Norv getting fired?
yeah if marty got fired after going 14-2 in the regular season then Norv deserves to get fired also at the end of the season.
@ S2N: Even though I'm white with a somewhat rich background, I completely understand what Tiki was saying. He made a good point...for once.
Maybe someone should start the "Fire Norv Turner Now!" blog. It's absolutely incredible how he took a 14-2 team and has seemingly destroyed it.
Kinda hard to say they destroyed it when the 14-2 team did not get to the AFC title game, whereas Norv's 11-5 team did. Point, Anon.
I don't mean to be rude about this or anything, but was there any particular reason that I missed that the Redskins picked today to honor Sean Taylor and have his number instead of the Native American chief in the middle of the field?
@ Anon @ 7:42: True that. But it just seemed like that Marty's 14-2 team, although less successful in the playoffs, was the better team in the playoffs and an all more intimidating team, in my opinion.
And this year as just spoken for itself.
Good point, JFein. This year has been a disaster for them.
"Al and John are inside the dome, which is a good game, because calling the game from outside the dome would be quite a challenge." - Bob Costas
"Especially seeing as it's 25 degrees outside the dome and 75 degrees inside." - Al Michaels
They just played snippets of the new Guns 'N Roses and I swear I wouldn't recognize the voice singing as Axl Rose's unless you told me it was GnR.
ESPN the Magazine had a good article on NFL'ers protecing themselves, especially in light of what happened to Sean Taylor. Of the handful of players interviewed, only Big Ben used body guards when out in public. Most of them owned guns and said they would use them without hesitation to protect themselves.
We don't know all the details of the Plax incident and there may be special circumstances, but on the surface it sounds like he made some dumb decisions including avoiding the police afterwards.
"Santanio...Santanio..Santanio Holmes" - Dan Patrick
DP to KO during Jets highlight: "Stop yelling!"
KO: "Now after 20 years you tell me to stop yelling".
DP: "I've told you before".
KO: "Yeah, like I listen".
"Remind me again to never interupt Cris as he's pronouncing himself an idiot." - Bob Costas
"You'll have plenty of chances to do that." - Keith Olbermann
Is this Lebron commercial an ad for Johnson & Johnson baby powder? I'm sick of it already.
Dan on the start of the Saints-Bucs highlights: "What's a pirate's favorite letter?"
Dan and Keith channeling Pirate Rupert Murdoch: "Arrrrrrrr!"
Man, Rupert would be proud.
Does anyone know why Costas is always like a foot shorter than the rest of the crew on the 4-shot? I mean, I know Costas is somewhat short, but does it warrant showing off his height difference on national TV?
He did that on NFL PxP back in the early 80's. Costas/Trumpy were the Mutt & Jeff of NBC Sports -- unfortunately the bigshots in the network broke the pair up.
The most akward interview ever. Tiki interviewed Eli Manning and Manning said something about facing "distractions in the past" You mean when a former teammate calls you soft and not in control of the locker room?
Damn, you think Bob Costas has some strong feelings about the Plexico Burress incident?
