Amare Stoudemire's Trippy Appearance On Nickelodeon

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

I honestly hadn't heard of the Nickelodeon show "Yo Gabba Gabba!" until a reader alerted me that Amare Stoudemire was going to be appearing on the show today. Amare was on the show to do something called "Dancy Dance Time" and here is the awesome result....

GO CRAZY! GO CRAZY! Try to get that out of your head the rest of the day. Seriously though, Amare's rockin' dance aside, if you're a College student, and you haven't heard about this show (and are prone to staying up late into the night for "one reason or another"), then you HAVE to check it out. Within the 30 minutes I watched not only did Amare come on, but so did Biz Markie, Mix Master Mike and Hot Hot Heat. I might be a little late to the "Yo Gabba Gabba!" party, but I'm slapping a TIVO season pass on this thing post haste!

I never thought I'd see, a day when Elijah Wood out athleticizes a basketball player.

This is great. I'm glad Amare is doing this instead of saying how he doesn't support the National Anthem because of his race like some other dumbass basketball players.

I'd never heard of that show either, but that was phenomenal. Don't sleep on the Nick!

My son (he's almost 4) loves Dancy Dance Time. He's kind of shy, so he won't do it if he knows we're watching, but I've snuck peeks at him bouncing and spinning and leaning to whoever the special guest is.

If I were still a college student who stayed up late (I don't think I slept at all in 1984) I'd TIVO this. It's the HR Puf'n'stuf or Banana Splits Show for a new generation. At least it gets them up and moving around instead of lying around thinking about blowing a magic flute.

Biz Markie is the brains behind Yo Gabba Gabba. It...is awesome.

Biz Markie has a segment on it, but the guys behind the show are/were in that band The Aquabats.

And this show just has to be a calling card for college stoners. I would think they would make up as much of the audience as kids.

I think the guys from The Aquabats! are largely responsible for this awesome show.

Spongebob Squarepants and Adult Swim apparently have competition in the stoned college student demographic.

"That red bumpy monster just got signed by the Knicks."

And Brobee just got a 10-day deal with the LA Crippled.

Amare is the man and perhaps if I can't find anything better on at night, I'll watch it. I'd love to see Matthew Lesko as the Dancy Dance guest, though.

I am a college student and that was absolutely glorious... I'm making a trip to Frostburg this weekend for many "one reason of another"-s, and my goal is to find this on.
