NFL Open Thread - Week 4 Late Games

Sunday, September 28, 2008

Only three games this afternoon, and if you're in St. Louis or the close-by area, you're really dicked, as you're getting stuck with watching the Rams get beat up by the Bills today. Choo Choo hopes Trent Green survives the game with his head intact. I'll be flipping back between the SD/Oakland game along with Skins/Boys, because I have three Chargers in my fantasy line-up.

CBS:

San Diego at Oakland - Jim Nantz, Phil Simms
Buffalo at St. Louis - Ian Eagle, Solomon Wilcots

FOX:

Washington at Dallas - Joe Buck, Troy Aikman

Do it to it, everybody, and stay tuned for the Eagles-Bears live-blog!

Update: Here's the Boldin vid. Pretty scary, but word is that he's moving all of his extremities at the present time. Hopefully he and Bronco receiver, Clifford Russell, make full recoveries.

I just moved to St. Louis and this is the second time, I think, that we've had only two games during the day, instead of three. Do you know why it is they're not showing Dallas-Washington here? It's bad enough having the Rams on one channel; it's basically unbearable when there's no alternative.

The NFL stupid television rules prevent any game from being televised against the home team in the primary market. This causes a lot of problems when the home team stinks and never appears on national television.

The problem is biggest in the Bay area, where most weeks are two game weekends, and both almost always involve the 49ers and Raiders

"The Jets will move up in the BCS standings" - Joe Buck after a update on Jets / Cards, and it was pointed out on PFT earlier that the
Jets throwbacks look like Favre's college uniform.

I swore I heard Buck say Packers during that, but not sure.

If what Anon 4:13 said is true, how is Skins / Boys not blacked in Oakland ?

Anonymous said...

@ jg

It is blacked out actually.......however if the Raiders game isn't sold out, they get the Cowboys/Redskins.

I would love to see that also, but the complaining from the papmpered media types about having the SB there would be unbearable. It could be unseasonably warm and the media would still cry about the cold.
