Monday Night Football Week One Live-Blog: Eagles-Cowboys Second Half

You just knew that picture was coming didn't you? It works on so many levels. First Romo is wearing the never good look of a kangol/newsboy cap and then his trainwreck of a girlfriend is just adding to the awkwardness. Good times. It's 30-24 Eagles at the half and let's hope this one isn't going to slow down in the second half.
"Was it an interception?" - Chris Berman on the Cutler fumble.

10:38- I think that's a safe bet. Here comes the second half. Dallas gets the ball. Felix Jones with yet another nice run back and he makes it out to the 35. Dallas tries to slow it down with a run, but Barber breaks it for about 20 yards and into Eagles territory. Romo scrambles and throws it away on second down. Penalty on the Cowboys as well moves it back 10.
1st and 20 and Romo awkwardly throws the ball away after feeling the pressure again. Barber is wrapped up on second down and that's followed by a toss up in the air to Bennett. Dawkins nails him though and breaks it up. Cowboys punt into the endzone so it'll be Eagles ball at their 20....make that the 10 after a block in the back.
A re-kick for some reason and the ball is basically in the same spot as it would have been. Anyway, Westbrook goes nowhere on first and Jackson follows it up with a drop. 3rd and long....Westbrook on the screen but it's short. Two back to back punts! How about that.
10:45- Romo to Witten for seven on first down and Barber adds two more on second. 3rd and short....Felix Jones picks up the rest.

Barber with a couple of carries and the Cowboys have it at the Philly 15. 3rd and 4....
Touchdown Dallas! Romo to Barber and the Cowboys take the lead again 31-30.

10:55- Eagles ball at their own 26. Good move by McNabb in the pocket and a dump to Buckhalter gets seven. Westbrook picks up the rest. McNabb escapes again and finds Baskett for a few....

I swear he's just trying to piss everyone off at this point. First down on a Westbrook run and dive at the 50. McNabb down the middle and Zach Thomas bats the ball away with a no-look swat. Jackson with the catch and he has another Iggle first. Westbrook fumbles! Gets it back though somehow.
Tirico correctly calls it a McNabb fumble after a bad exchange. He's like an eagle that guy. McNabb with another sick move in the pocket and then underhands it to Westbrook. Just a great play....and a 15-yard facemask to boot. Eagles are inside the 20.
End of a rather quick third and the score is 31-30 'Boys.

11:12- Jones has his worst return of the night but still gets it to the 30. First down Dallas. Incomplete on first down but Barber follows it up with a screen and takes it all the way down into Eagles territory.

More Tony guffawing in regards to Jerry Jones after actually bringing up Simpson. Romo misses Witten down the middle by an inch and it's 2nd and 10. Felix Jones gets a few and then goes backwards. Third and long....Witten catches it but he's well short. FG attempt for Folk....

11:23- Demps runs back the kickoff all the way into Dallas territory and both Special Teams coaches should be fired on Tuesday. McNabb to Jackson on first down and DeSean is over 100 yards again. Donovan to Greg Lewis and that's a first.
FUMBLE! Westbrook gives it up and Ratliff picks it up for Dallas. That's going to come back to haunt them.

Incomplete to Westbrook. Here comes a punt. Dallas' D stepped up for that one. Pacman on the return and there's a block in the back. Dallas ball at their own 21. Barber blasts for a few yards and Philly calls timeout. Barber gets a few more and it'll be 3rd and 3.....
Wide open is Barber! Romo misses him!!! Philly has a chance and the clock stops with the incomplete pass. Jackson on the return but a hold on Demps will bring it back.
Here we go. 2:36 left and McNabb with the ball. Greg Lewis juggles it and it's incomplete at the marker. McNabb on the scramble and that should take us to the two minute warning...
NO! Westbrook on the draw before the warning and he picks it up as well as a 15-yard facemask. Philly's ball with a first down at midfield.
We're back from the break. McNabb back to pass....SACKED! Loss of four.....1:30 to go. McNabb had space to run, but it's incomplete. He had at least a first down if he pulled it down and ran. 3rd and 14....McNabb scrambles and he goes down! Demarcus Ware gets him!!! Great play....just didn't give up.
Here it is. 4th and 17....A hook and ladder play?!?!?! That was a horrible call and that'll do it. Cowboys win.

Say what you want about the other announcers, but Tirico has been fantastic tonight calling this game. He has picked up on things live that other announcers miss even on replay.

The down and distance was on the scoreboard bar at the bottom of the screen before that play. When it went to the shot of both teams at the line and you could see the graphic on the field, the down and distance on the bar went away.

I had no idea that Kornheiser could be so awful, and I'm not talking about his so-called bias for the Cowboys. Overall his commentary was sickeningly forced and cute. I felt sorry for Tirico, and for us fans, of course. Jaws got caught up in the "Romo is standing up straight" thing for awhile. It would have been interesting to see video of his old style to get a better appreciation of the improvement.
My bad, I thought a "hook-and-ladder" was a firetruck. I still think I'm right about the "dickhead" part.
