Video: John McCain's Interview On ESPN

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

ESPN's Bob Ley sat down with John McCain on Sunday during a NASCAR race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and here is the full interview that aired on Sports Center this morning....

It seemed to go a lot longer than the Obama-Scott interview, but pretty much the same line of questioning. Softballs all-around and a few Sports questions thrown in. Again, I'm against Politics being involved in Sports, and I'm not quite sure why ESPN finally decided to go forward with them, but in the end....no harm, no foul.

Oh and tricky move by ESPN to release that the interview was going to be on the 9am Sports Center and actually airing it at the very end of the three-hour block.

2 hours and 45 minutes of Ed Werder breaking down MNF is way more important than John McCain.

Well, at least they had the last true professional at tWWL do the interview. If this had been FOX(sports, not news), we would've seen Jeannie Zelasko or Chris "I Kid Because I Care" Myers.

OK so McCain gets Bob Ley the closest thing ESPN has to a journalist while Obama gets the biggest joke at the network in Stuart Scott. Now may somebody at ESPN give me a reason for the choices of having different journalists interview different candidates and am I the only one who thinks this is not a coincidence that ESPN, not really a bastion of diversity, has a black interview the first major black candidate for president?

^I don't understand what you think ESPN's motive is.
