Your College Football Announcing Schedule For Week Six

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Sorry for the delay in getting this to you but there were some small discrepancies with ESPN's teams. With the help of The506, I think we've figured out the correct teams for each game. There are a ton of midweek games, and some interesting moves of teams again by the "Leader", so keep your eyes peeled. Oh and there's an added bonus this weekend for you fans of Michigan State and Iowa. Pam Ward, originally scheduled to call the game, has been moved to the WNBA Finals. So you've got that going for you....which is nice.

Bizarre that the normal ESPN/2 prime-time teams (Patrick/Blackledge and Jones/Davie) will be splitting the country on ABC. It must because they didn't want Herbstreit traveling three straight weekends after going from Auburn to Tempe and Athens to State College.

Slight correction: UMd/UVa is on ESPNU, not ESPN.

And william, I still stand by the fact that they need to have Herbstreit either do the prime game and replace him on Gameday, or have him stay on Gameday and go back to analyst on Thursday nights.

This traveling across the country thing is pointless and hinders his work in both facets.

I agree. Probably part of it is an ego thing. But just looking at it realisticly, it's not ecconomical for Herbstreet flying completely across the country for Gameday AND ABC Saturday Night.

Anon 3:26 and walnuts, do you really think that Herbie's work has gone downhill? Admittedly, I don't normally watch the entire game on Saturday nights, but I haven't really noticed much of a difference from him.

Personally, if they were going to make a change, I'd go back to having a 2-man booth on Thursday nights and just go with Fowler/Herbstreit. Not that I don't like James or Palmer, but I have a man crush on both Fowler and Herbstreit, and they already have fantastic chemistry. Then again, that would mess up the Saturday studio shows on ABC (James) and ESPN2 (Palmer), so it's not like either of them are free to work with Musberger.

Now the few Americans without cable/satellite get a chance to hear how bad Mike Patrick is.

The simple thing to do is A send gameday to what ever game is on Saturday Night Football or have brent and Kirk call what ever game gameday is at be that on espn or abc

I'm almost going to Miss Pammy butchering words and calls in the Iowa game. Almost.

So SEC country gets rewarded with Gameday, then gets punished with Musberger.

Is this accurate, Bob Wischusen and Brock Huard are going to call games on BOTH Friday & Saturday? Odd to see a broadcasting team call games on consecutive days.

I saw some theory that something happened with Herbstreit and Erin Andrews. Ever since then they haven't been at the same game/Gameday location with EA doing the less important games instead of the big games like normal. At first I thought it was crazy but it has happenned for the last 3-4 weeks.

So...has there been some unofficial demotion or something. Patrick/Blackledge doing the OSU/WISC ABC lead game and Musburger/Herbstreit getting a 6 pm Vandy game. Something must have went down that none of us know about. Another thing, why didn't Jones and Davie get switched to ILL/MICH? You know they'd want to, anything to see Juice Williams.
