Your Week Three NFL Announcing Schedule And Broadcast Maps
Wednesday, September 17, 2008
This season is out of the gates fast and I can't believe we're already onto week three. The teams and storylines around the league are taking shape, so it'll be interesting to see which teams the networks put on which games the rest of the way. FOX has some interesting games on the slate after a terrible week two, but CBS continues to get the favorable out-of-conference matchups. Buck and Aikman get to go to Denver for the potential Broncos and Saints shootout, but CBS counters with Nantz and Simms in Philly for the extremely intriguing Steelers-Eagles game.
Other than that, I think this is the first time in two years that the Patriots have gotten less than the number two team from CBS (they actually get the 5th team in Eagle-Wilcots). Here they are the maps, and remember you can head to The 506 for a larger view of each....
FOX:
BLUE: Arizona at Washington (1pm) - Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnson, Tony Siragusa
ORANGE: Tampa Bay at Chicago (1pm) - Sam Rosen, Tim Ryan
PURPLE: Carolina at Minnesota (1pm) - Ron Pitts, Tony Boselli

GREEN: Detroit at San Francisco (4pm) - Dick Stockton, Brian Baldinger, Brian Billick
YELLOW: St. Louis at Seattle (4pm) - Matt Vasgersian, J.C. Pearson
CBS 1pm:
RED: Cincinnati at NY Giants - Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf
BLUE: Houston at Tennessee - Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon
GREEN: Kansas City at Atlanta - Gus Johnson, Steve Tasker

What is with the grayed area for DC?
Oh goody, Jim Nantz is in Philadelphia. Honestly, how is CBS's worst NFL pbp man their #1 guy?
@ Anon - the gray areas mean you're not getting any game for that time and channel, I believe.
@G$:
Is it too late to repent?
Criqui and Fouts FTW.
Thats two weeks in a row the D.C. are isnt getting a Doubleheader on either channel.
I got to admit I like fouts last week ... on an unrelated note while I respect Kevin Harlen I wish just once I could get my Gus Fix when I watch the Titans
Think its time for the good people of Albany NY to be pissed.
As of Weds they're not getting the Bills game. They're getting the Giants.
im from albany and i am pissed. i dont care about the bills or giants im a dolphins fan. and we arent getting them. i was really having hope with them playing the pats but i was wrong. id rather have the giants though over the bills. but at least its not the jets which is just 3 hours of how can we retell the same story about favre that only a complete idiot would think is a new story.
Sam Rosen and Tim Ryan seem to be doing a lot of the Bears games the last couple of years. I don't mind, though, because the guy on radio in Chicago, Jeff Joniak, sucks. To use one of his own overused terms, he is ridiculous. That's a shame because the analyst working with him, Tom Thayer, is really good.
Goddamit! Once again regional coverage absolutely screws me!
St. Louis at Seattle? Seriously??? What a crap game! Oakland at Buffalo? Gah! When will we finally lose this myth that people would rather watch a horrible game featuring a team that is geographically close to them rather than a good game featuring teams from across the country? It really makes me sick.
How does the whole country get two CBS games except Chicago and DC. What the hell.
CBS isn't going to put a game up against a local team that's on the other station. CBS figures everyone in Chicago, DC and Minny will watch their respective teams.

Jim, instead you get three hours of Tony Kornheiser schlobbing his knob on Monday.
@ w_rabb
I agree.
"CBS isn't going to put a game up against a local team that's on the other station. CBS figures everyone in Chicago, DC and Minny will watch their respective teams."
Chicago, DC and Minny all have home games. NFL rules say that no game can compete with a local team's home game within a certain radius of the stadium.
When was the last time Jim Nantz visited Philly? Oh, it'll be great to hear his marvelous voice inside the confines of Lincoln Financial Field.
How the hell is about 1/4 of MD getting the Ravens game, and the rest getting the PA match-up. I'm like right on the line. This sucks.
I'm willing to bet I'm in the red... Guess I'll be sitting at the bar, possibly alone, on a Sunday afternoon.
Giants vs. Bengals isn't too great in the morning window in Utah, but I'll gladly watch my Broncos outgun the Saints in the afternoon. Eagles vs. Steelers should also be pretty good. I'll have to catch that one on NFL Replay. Thank heaven for NFL Network! LOL at everyone that has to watch Rams vs. Seahawks.
All I've got to say is thank the Lord for NFL Sunday Ticket, and thanks for the mute button when Gus Johnson is announcing (yelling for a 2 yard run)!!!
damn it! give lexington ky the steelers game!
Thank you, Lord, for not making me suffer through SF/DET.
