Segments To Be Featured On Monday Night Countdown Tonight

Monday, September 22, 2008

Well here comes the Monday night that we've all been dreading. It's Brett Favre night for the trio as the quarterback heads to San Diego to take on the Chargers and you just know ESPN was going to do at least twenty pieces on him leading up to the game. Here's what is on tap for Monday Night Countdown tonight.....

“Soundtracks:” Best of Brett Favre
“Soundtracks” will feature the best of Favre during his legendary career as the Green Bay Packers quarterback.

Brett Favre: One-on-One with Ed Werder
They already aired this one on Sunday, but in case you missed it, Werder and Favre sit down to talk the past, present and future.

ESPN the Magazine's “For Love or The Game:” Luis Castillo
Castillo’s longtime girlfriend, Merriam, and his teammate Shaun Phillips battle to see who really knows Castillo better.

“Unmasked:” Thomas Jones
The AFC's fifth leading rusher is off to a fast start for the Jets. In “Unmasked,” Countdown takes viewers under the helmet with the Jets top runner.

EA Sports Virtual Playbook: Tomlinson Option Pass
Countdown’s Jackson shows how Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson can sometimes beat teams with his arm instead of his legs.

Weekly Monday Night Countdown Segments: Field Pass, Quarterback Conundrum (Steve Young and Trent Dilfer offer their views on topical issues), Teams at 20
___________________________

Just like last week, you might want to punch in right when the game starts because outside of learning about Thomas Jones, there's just going to be a ton of Brett Favre talk. Hopefully Emmitt will say something crazy tonight. Oh, and a reminder......I'll see you for the live-blog tonight around 8pm.

Yesterday during Countdown, when they went to the MNF tourbus analysis, Tony was wearing a hat and sunglasses like his name was Joe Fucking Awesome. You're on TV, jerk, take off the blu-blockers.

Minor quibble, and I noticed you did this last week: It's called "For Love OR The Game" not "For Love OF The Game".

The titles are from ESPN, Ed. Guess they don't know the names of their own segments.

"Castillo’s longtime girlfriend, Merriam, and his teammate Shaun Phillips battle to see who really knows Castillo better."

Wow, I was just saying to myself that this is really something we need more of on Monday Night Football.
