George O'Leary Conference Calls Are Ultra Sexy

Tuesday, September 02, 2008

A year ago the Big East was experiencing "technical difficulties" during a conference call and today it seems another issue has arisen during one of Conference USA's team calls. Apparently reporters trying to get into a telephone discussion with UCF Coach George O'Leary were greeted by an interesting host yesterday. From TampaBay.com via The Sporting Blog....

UCF's scheduled media teleconference with football coach George O'Leary has been delayed this afternoon because the school accidentally gave out the number for a phone-sex line instead of the correct number for the teleconference.

"Hi sexy!" media members calling the number were greeted. "You've reached the live, one-on-one fantasy line."

This being a family blog, I stopped taking notes on what the woman said. This is going to be an awkward expense-account issue ...

Just an innocent typo, but why does it seem that every time one digit is wrong, it's never for the local library? The teleconference has been rescheduled for Wednesday, and O'Leary will also be available on the Conference USA coaches' call Tuesday.
I don't know what it is about College Football that causes either prank calls, or now phone sex operators to show up on the line, but it's become an epidemic as of late. Too funny.

Sorry, but is George O'Leary there? (TampaBay.com)

While UCF really really wants to be in the Big East... it isn't. UCF is in Conference USA while USF is in the Big East.

Just so you know, he is talking about something like this happened LAST YEAR in the Big East and then says (and will quote it for you), "today it seems another issue has arisen during one of Conference USA's team calls." Notice the Conference USA part. Good work being critical though without actually reading the post.

Maybe that is how O'Leary answers the phone? You know, a way to beef up his resume.

That. Was. Hilarious. And I agree with the article, how come it never is the local library that you get when you dial the wrong number.

jfein: Most conference calls are on a toll-free number. I doubt the local library is.
