Your First Look At TBS' MLB Postseason Spots Featuring Jon Bon Jovi
Monday, September 08, 2008
I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sick of Bon Jovi getting into all my Sports. It was fine when he just had his AFL Team because that was avoidable, but now he's creeping into MLB and the NFL, and TBS has just decided to use his song "I Love This Town" for their postseason promos. Here's your first look at the spot....
I guess it wasn't that bad. The song is okay, and the player appearances are fun, but it just goes on forever. Shorter versions will be played on TBS this month, but you might not want to go to the movies until after October. The version you just watched is going to be played as a preview before movies on over 11,500 movie screens across the country.
Oh and one more thing. Remember MLB's postseason commercial featuring Spanish from Old School? Well TBS is also getting on board with that campaign and will have the "stars" from their shows blogging about the Playoffs. Those stars include "Beautiful Girls" actor Timothy Hutton whose on some show called "Leverage", Bill Engval and you guessed it.....Frank Caliendo!

Stewie Griffin was supposed to get one of those ads, too.
Where's Tyler Perry? My Boys chick? 10 Items or Less!
All those great bands out there, and they had to pick BON JOVI?! You know I was find with this year's first series of commercials with Frank Caliendo. Why BON JOVI?! There's enough crappy music on the radio, now it's invading my sports commercials?! Why, just why?
AA, this isn't much of a shocker. TBS used this same song for their postseason coverage last year.
As far as the OctoberGonzo/TBS spots, some of them have been airing already. I know I've seen a Jeff Foxworthy one already. And, yes, Stewie Griffin and Frank Caliendo will have their own spots.
Enough Bon Jovi! They played this song into the ground last year... please come up with something new for 2008.
are you guys CRAZY??
LOVE BON JOVI!!!
I agree with Teale, Bon Jovi ROCKS!!!! An All American band for an All American sport! LOVE THEM! :)
Who gives a crap about Bon Jovi, as long as they get rid of the damn "lead-off indicator" or whatever they call it. And hopefully they bring in some guys who know the game...last year was awful, awful, awful.
They may want to edit all the Marlins and Yankees stuff out of the open before final version makes it to air.
