Yep, Usain Bolt Is Still Really Fast

Friday, September 05, 2008

This guy is seriously a freak of nature. Bolt and Asafa Powell were in Brussels today for the much anticiapted re-match to end the Track and Field season. ESPN awesomely decided to show it live during Sports Center and here's the race....

The guy almost fell at the start and still ran the third best time ever (tying Tyson Gay who withdrew from the event). Just unbelievable. I really hope he doesn't get caught up in all of that steroid mess that some of the Jamaican athletes are currently in because the Sport really needs someone as good as (and completely clean).

Oh and if you're wondering who the History Channel-like announcer is, it's Stuart Storey.

Bolt runs 9.77 in cold, wet conditions for win (AP)

Whoever that announcer was needs to come to America now. He sounded like he was doing a war documentary.

I love the Bolt is still out there posing, "hot-dogging" and having fun. It's a big F you to Bob Costas.

That announcer was awesome. The hype 10 seconds prior to the race was epic. Someone in the US has to hire that guy for big bucks. He'd be a great golf or baseball commentator.

Hahaha. That's exactly what I thought 289. Like he was on the History Channel.

British announcers >>>> American announcers

If you want to hear awesome British sport commentary, check out a English Premier League soccer game. Yeah they may only score once per game, but when they do the announcers go nuts along with the rest of the crowd.

How much longer will ESPN cover track?

I'm not complaining that they are, just wondering how long ESPN's attention span for it is.

I figure until a NFL player breaks a toe and coverage shifts to that.

I'm glad the leader showed that; I saw it live and it was awesome.

But I could sit for hours and listen to Stuart Storey read the Dictionary to me... That man is good at what he does.
