Your NFL Week One Broadcast Maps

Tuesday, September 02, 2008

The 506.com does yeoman's work every week of the NFL season by putting together the broadcast maps that you've seen here and throughout the Internet. I'm going to make a point to highlight them every week of the season around the time that the announcing schedule comes out if not the same day.

Here are the set for Week One and if you want a closer look, you can either click on the photos or use the actual Google map version over at the 506.com.

Thanks AA!! As a college student living a couple hours away from home (and the Philadelphia market), this will come in handy a lot.

In Utah, Bills-Seahawks and Cowboys-Browns should be a way good doubleheader. If I'm a degenerate tool, I can flip over to CBS and watch the new media darling Jets get punked by the Dolphins.

Why are some areas of the FOX 1 pm gray? Does that mean they don't get a game then?

Dammit...I'm a Jets fan stuck in Connecticut and I have to watch the friggin Pats every week. My bar tabs are getting painful.

Just wondering...for the Fox 1 pm map, my market is brown. Any idea as to what that means?

I'm not entirely sure, but this is what the 506 says....

TBA (to be determined by audience vote on station website)

Random, but highly possible.

The gray in a map means no game is shown at that time. In a teams primary market, no other game can be shown at the same time that team is playing. In this case that gray area in Tennessee is because the Titans play at 1pm on CBS, thus Fox is not allowed to air a game in that region at that time slot. Got it?

Great maps, AA! Unfortunately, it still doesn't help remove the bleeping Chargers from my SoCal viewing Sunday. Would much rather have the Cowboys/Browns. That should be a great game.

Bucs-Saints may be moved to Tampa. Hurricane Gustav trashed all the electric lines in Louisiana, especially those going into and out of New Orleans.

Why is Chicago getting Bucs-Saints? We're closer to St. Louis than New Orleans.

Lots of St. Louis and Philly transplants in Chicago.

Give us Rams-Eagles!!

Will this site be updated weekly? As a Chargers fan living in Tucson(attending the U of A), this is a great resource to know whether I'll actually get to see Chargers games or if I'm stuck with the Cardinals.

JMNOR55,
it'll update every week + during the week. When the tv sched comes out, it'll post that day ... then these guys update it whenever anything changes (the markets outside of a home team area change quite a bit). I had this bookmarked last year - it rules.
